The NP boys golf team’s season came to a close at the District Tournament held Friday, May 18, 2018 at Nashua Town and Country Club. With a tie for 4th place finish the team battled to a 354 team total. Based on season averages coming into the meet, the Huskies were slated to finish in 8th or 9th place.

The Huskies were led by a trio of seniors playing in their last meet. Senior Jayden Jost led the way with an 86. Dillon Auchstetter and Calem Liddle each chipped in 88’s. Rounding out the team scoring was Shane Hillesheim and Derik Auchstetter who each carded 92’s. Drew Moine shot a 98.

Winning the meet and advancing to state were Grundy Center. They posted a 324 team score. Second place went to Bishop Garrigan with a 341 team score. Rockford finished in 3rd with a 346.

Individually Austin Eckenrod from Newman Catholic was meet medalist with a 72.
