Season Closes at Regional Final
The 2018 golf season came to a close for the NP Girls at the Regional Final they hosted at the Nashua Town and Country Club. Shooting a team total of 405, they found themselves 15 strokes out of the 2nd place spot needed to advance to next week’s state tournament to be held in Marshalltown. Bishop Garrigan outdistanced the field with a 387 to take the top spot. BCLUW earned the 2nd state qualifier spot with their 390 team total. Grundy Center ended up 3rd with a 398 total.
Individually, the Huskies were led by Keagan Betsinger with a 96. Needing to finish among the top 8 individuals, Betsinger shot a 96 which was 2 strokes out of the 8th place spot. Miranda Crabtree closed with a 99. Megan Cerwinske chipped in a 102 and Nicole Harrington shot a 108 to round out NP’s total. Abby Poppe and Sammi Tolnai shot 114 and 126 respectively.
With the results, this closed out the high school careers for seniors Megan Cerwinske, Miranda Crabtree and Nicole Harrington.
