The Nashua-Plainfield boys golf team punched their ticket to the next round by finishing 2nd in their sectional tournament they hosted. The tournament was moved up a day due to the impending weather forecast which would have made play difficult on Friday. Don Bosco was the team champion with a 335 total. The NP team totaled 363 for 2nd.
Leading the Huskies was senior Jayden Jost. He carded rounds of 45 and 44 for an 89 total, good enough for 7th place overall. Consistent play out of all 6 players was the theme of the day as they all shot within 6 strokes of each other. Jost was followed by Drew Moine’s 90, Calem Liddle’s 91 and Shane Hillesheim’s 93 to give them their team total. Rounding out the scoring was Dillon Auchstetter and Derik Auchstetter with 95 and 96 respectively.
By virtue of the 2nd place finish, they advance to the District round to be held Friday, May 18. The meet is scheduled for Mason City Country Club but site is pending due to course conditions.
Complete results of the meet can be found on the NP Boys Golf Website in the Schedule/Results link.
